Elizabeth Hodgkin is Amnesty International’s Researcher on Sudan. Elizabeth talked about campaigning for change in Darfur, the role of human rights and humanitarian organizations and how to get the international community to listen.

Abdel Latif Ismail is Director of the Darfur Centre for Human Rights and development. Abdel, who is in daily contact with people in Darfur, talked about his Centre’s work and explained the background to what’s happening there now.

Steve Crawshaw is London Director of Human Rights Watch. Steve spoke about the increased pressure needed to end the killings, and the potentially crucial role that the new International Criminal Court could play.

Dr James Smith is Co-founder and Chief Executive of the Aegis Trust, an NGO confronting the causes and consequences of genocide and crimes against humanity, and Co-founder and CEO of the UK Holocaust Centre. James talked about the Protect Darfur campaign, for which he is responsible.

Chair: Carrie Supple is a founding member of the Jewish Forum for Justice and Human Rights. Carrie has developed resources for teaching about the Holocaust and she works at the Citizenship Foundation as Project Manager of Youth Act.
